Abstract

Smart grid technologies are transforming traditional electrical grids into intelligent and efficient systems. This paper explores the components and features of smart grids, including advanced metering infrastructure, distribution automation, and demand response programs. It discusses the benefits of smart grids, such as improved energy efficiency, reduced emissions, and enhanced grid reliability. The paper also addresses challenges related to cybersecurity and privacy in smart grid deployments and highlights the role of renewable energy integration in modernizing the electrical grid.
