Innovating Product Design and Development Processes
Abstract
This paper explores how AI-driven engineering is innovating product design and development processes. Through case studies and research insights, it investigates how artificial intelligence is transforming traditional product design practices, including ideation, prototyping, and testing. The study highlights the application of AI techniques such as generative design, simulation, and virtual reality in accelerating the product development lifecycle, reducing costs, and enhancing product performance. Additionally, it discusses the integration of AI with 3D printing, collaborative platforms, and digital twins to enable rapid iteration, collaborative design, and real-time feedback throughout the product lifecycle. The paper also addresses challenges such as intellectual property protection, skill gaps, and ethical considerations in the adoption of AI-driven engineering solutions in product design. It emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, user-centered design, and continuous learning to leverage AI's potential in driving innovation and competitiveness in product development.
